Research updates and corrections

We publish dates, cite primary records when available, and say what remains unverified. An update date is the date our team checked the source, not a claim that utility prices change in real time.

New three-part homepage evidence strip

Removed the decorative house-and-wave graphic and added three linked fact cards: public rate reference, the Legislature's HB337 record, and documented community complaints/issues.

We use Legislature Approved to describe legislative enactment, not an officially certified election result.

Historical public rate figures added

At 6,000 gallons, the official Madison Utilities inside-city tariff gives illustrative wastewater amounts of $55.48 for October 2024, $57.04 for October 2025 and $58.36 for October 2026. These are not Integra customer bills or forecasts of a public takeover.

Billing fees added to pricing review

We added a fee inventory covering convenience/card processing, bank payment methods, late fees, returned checks and reconnection charges. Madison Utilities now has a sourced card/e-check convenience-fee disclosure and states automatic bank draft has no processing fee; its exact card fee amount is not established here. No Madison County Integra card-fee amount has been verified. We will not borrow a number from another provider or jurisdiction.

County records and public reporting organized

We added links to a county sewer installation agenda, a proposed private sewer oversight amendment, ADEM records, and published reporting on the New Market facility dispute. Government agendas, lawsuits and accusations are not themselves proof of regulatory misconduct.

Open corrections and evidence requests

  • Obtain an applicable Integra Madison County 2026 tariff and historical rates.
  • Find a dated receipt or official list establishing its convenience/payment-method fees.
  • Obtain court docket and final outcome for New Market resident litigation.
  • Verify certified outcome of the November 3 private sewer amendment.
  • Confirm which legal entities own and operate specific Madison County systems.

We will label corrections with dates and explain the change rather than silently replacing controversial claims.
