Complaints and community reports

What is documented, and what is still being verified?

There is community opposition and reporting about a proposed Integra-related wastewater facility in New Market. That is evidence of a public dispute, not an independently audited complaint count or a finding of misconduct.

Reported lawsuit • April 2026

Berry Hill and New Market residents' challenge

WAFF reported that homeowners sued over the proposed facility. We are seeking the original filing and any judicial decision before summarizing accusations or outcomes.

Reported permit withdrawal • September 2026

Winchester Road proposal withdrawn

Local reporting described a withdrawn discharge application and reactions from residents. A permit withdrawal does not, by itself, establish a regulatory violation.

Verified Integra Madison County service complaint count: not established. Residents' first-person testimony will not appear here until a private review, proof and explicit consent process is operating.

Identity and attribution safeguards

We're checking complaints by the actual provider and system, not simply by a similar company name. A Better Business Bureau complaint appearing on a Madison County entity listing includes a response identifying a different provider; it is not counted as a verified local Integra complaint.

Records involving Integra Water Creola, LLC concern a different Alabama entity and are not presented as Madison County enforcement actions.

We have not established a verified “scandal” finding. Newsworthy disputes, allegations, regulatory actions and rulings will be described with their distinct evidence and outcomes.

Government and regulatory oversight

Legislative action: Alabama HB337 was enacted as a proposal to bring qualifying private sewer systems under PSC oversight. Enactment by lawmakers and subsequent voter approval are separate steps. We are checking the final certified vote tally; see official government sources below.

Earlier county-government records

County Commission agendas document a 2015 proposed agreement involving county property for Integra sewer improvements and a 2023 permit item for sewer installation near Sunny Dell and Baltimore Hill roads. An agenda item shows that a matter was scheduled, not whether it passed or how officials negotiated it.

WAFF reported that the Madison County Commission passed a resolution in January 2026 supporting legislation related to private sewer regulation. On November 3, residents voted on an amendment concerning Public Service Commission oversight of qualifying private wastewater systems. Its final certified result has not yet been verified here.
